About Time...

So I guess it is about time that I update my blog...I know no one actually follows me, but random people from Germany and Russia read it according to my info so theres that! Im attempting to be optimistic about it...but feel free to follow me!
Anywho, the last time I really posted anything was right around the time I left London, so basically 5 months ago...whoops :/ But it is part of my New Years resolution to do a better job at this! I really do have time and lots that I would like to share I just never remember.
Here is a start though and a little fill in on what life has been like in the last 5 months:
August: Filled with lots of Phi Mu love with what felt like weeks of recruitment...but it turned out to be a blast, a stressful one, but a blast none the less!
September: I got into the swing of classes and had to stop leading Young Life. As much as I miss it sometimes it has been a blessing in disguise because it has allowed so many other doors to open! My roommates and I also got to host our first party at The Cottage, as we so quaintly named our house at UK. It was for some sweet friends' birthdays!
October: I went on fall weekend at Lake Cumberland with some really cool people and we got to spend the weekend learning about the Lord and considering His work in our lives! October was also Keeneland month. This means my family went to the race track quite a few times. This is actually perfect though because horse racing is one of my dad's favorite things and the Keeneland only has horses run in October and April (I think that is the right spring month!) The last big event that October held for me was sober monitoring our Halloween date party...as you can guess that was a blast! Actually, it wasn't really that bad so I shouldn't complain.

November: Not a whole lot happened in November, Thanksgiving was really about it. It may also be the month that a few of my friends and I all decided we are going to run a marathon together in May. Also, I voted in the election for my first time! Other than that though, it was pretty uneventful. Although, lets not overlook how great the food was at Thanksgiving! Who doesn't love a holiday that revolves around eating?!

December: Last month was full of fun and exciting adventures! First was Nashville with my parents and some friends! The lead in the band made me go up on stage and dance to Footloose and that was interesting to say the least...the whole trip was interesting really. Then there were finals, which I took a lot less seriously than usual, but I did well so it turned out okay! Oh, and I can't forget that during finals week all of us at the 419 did rookie Christmas. It was a lot of fine because it is rare that we all get to hang out together. We even made breakfast at midnight for Haley's birthday! (This was my first experience cooking bacon and lets just say I was shouting profanities while getting burnt by grease!) Then I headed home just in time to hop on a plane for DC to visit my dad's home during the week. We spend the whole weekend shopping: Friday night was Tysons Corner Mall, Saturday was St. Michaels, Maryland and Annapolis, Sunday was the Leesburg Outlets and Georgetown and Monday was back to the mall. You may ask what all of the shopping was for...well we would venture into stores, mainly boutiques and find things I liked, then I would leave and my parents would collaborate if they were going to buy any Christmas presents there. Which leads me to Christmas. I got some of the things I picked out, so naturally I love them all, but my favorite present of all time was in the mix, my Barbour jacket. Also, my dad wins the award for most thoughtful present; he drove back to Georgetown in snow during rush hour to buy me six English Christmas cupcakes from the one and only Georgetown Cupcakes! A few day later, I met up with some childhood friends which always turns out to be full of fun stories. Next was New Years Eve, which is one of my least favorite holidays. Sorry, but I just don't get all of the hype, so I spent the night in with a few of my best friends.

January: Here we are! On the first of the month I started my 18 weeks training for a marathon! I also saw both Les Mis and Silver Linings Playbook, both wonderful movies. One was sad, yet so warm and full of hope, and the other was a beautiful love story with humor and sarcasm brought to a somewhat taboo subject that also contained such warmth. The acting, directing, and cinematography was incredible in both films! I also got to have Christmas with some family friends and play dress up with their three little girls! I can't forget the quality time I spent at Starbucks with my fam this break! And finally, my brother comes home tomorrow which is welcomed as he did not get to spend Christmas with us, but was with his fiancés family instead. He is bringing my bridesmaid dress too, which I will be trying on for the first time! Then on Saturday I will be celebrating my 20th birthday which is absolutely crazy!

Until next time,
Court
